As of 11/5/2010 we have gone a week without any garbage pick up. There has been no leaves picked up for over two weeks. Where is the outrage over the lost of these basic services when our taxes are going up 16%? We better get used to it because this is only the begining if we don't do something about it.

I agree. And it's a really bad sign of the times, in my opinion. Hopefully it's just a issue with the contractor or employees. Is garage pick-up done by the city or a private contractor on the north side? Anyway, I would be googling the number for the administration if I were you. "Spirited" calls often help these situation along.

Update: my neighbor said the trash pick up was slow due to lay offs. I don't see how laying off the garage men is going to make the taxpayers happy, but whatever. That's just what my neighbor heard. Take it at the right level.
