Tharien Karim Arnold is a South Ward Newark native. His educational career started in the Newark public school system and he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University- Newark campus.

As a young man, he served on the high school student government and has continued his leadership by serving three consecutive terms as the president of University College Student Government at Rutgers University. He has also served as senior class president and president of Upsilon Chi Nu, Criminal Justice fraternity at Rutgers. He also served four years as Rutgers University Alumni Association President, and currently holds the position of 1st-Vice-President of the Alumni Association.

Tharien Karim Arnold’s professional career started in the Newark public school system as a teacher at Central High school. He has worked as a Vice-Principal at Marist High School in Bayonne, subsequently returning to Newark to Rutgers University as an academic advisor. Tharien Karim Arnold is currently Assistant Director of MBA Student Services for Rutgers’ Newark and New Brunswick campuses.

Tharien Karim Arnold has consistently proven his commitment to young people by volunteering his time as Cub Master of Pack 501 (Boy Scouts of America). In addition to working with the Boy Scouts, he continually helps and encourages young people to attend college, assisting them in obtaining financial aid, and also assisting them in exploring career options.

Tharien Karim Arnold is a resident of the South Ward and has been a home owner and property investor in the South Ward for the past eight years. He is one of the founders of the South Ward Better Life Society, an organization committed to improving the quality of life for South Ward residents. Continuing in his efforts of volunteerism, Tharien Karim Arnold, has been involved with providing training to help parolees manage careers and educational opportunities at the Seth Boyden housing complex

Very confusing. Based upon what he has listed on his site, you cannot determine whether Oscar S. James, II is presently working with these organization, when he worked with these organizations, if he made a living working at any of these positions. Also what has he listed that constitutes a career? His position as President of Newark Alumni is a position given to him by Carl Sharif to try to lend him some credibility. Newark Alumni is Carl Sharif’s organization. Also three of the listed items are of who OSCAR WORKED WITH. Does not list how long he worked WITH them or actually what he did with these organizations he worked with.
