Now he is mad the city is selling land for 4$ a square foot.......that's the pot calling the kettle black.....

Default Then where is the indications that the buyer was a buddy of his?

You must have something that not only shows his name on something, and some evidence that the people who bought the land were Bookers friends.

This stunt was weak and the same pathetic nonsense Newark has come to expect from you.

Are You trying to compare 36 parcels to several thousands that "Your Boy", "Mr. Highway Robbery Sharpe James" sold to his BOYS. I don't think that even you "Mr. SoftPuff" can compare the numbers. Now all of a sudden you guys are having integrity issues that were clearly overlooked before.

Keep sticking up for your boy because he will not be sticking up for you when it really counts. He has left all of you out in the open to take the hit! But I guess that's what all of you have been doing for the past two decades. Maybe you guys will get a discount at the Essex County College in the near future.

I don't think it is a stretch. The last page shows that Booker voted in favor of the sale of land for much less than the assessed value, yet now, Booker is on the war path about how cheaply the City sells land as if he never had a part in it. No one indicated that the developers were friends of his. The statement is factual: On August 1, 2001, Councilman Booker approved a resolution for the sale of land for a dollar and now advocates against it. That is on the face of it inconsistent.

I have no factual knowledge of this...I have to research it but I think he voted for it YEARS AGO because there was no real development YEARS AGO and now that Newark is bringing in development there is no need to sell land for $1-4 bucks a foot when houses are topping $300 - 400k for a one family. Just my thoughts...

That was one really long sentence, hey

Unless the documents posted were doctored, it states it clearly. Booker voted on this in August of 2001, while there was a lot of development already happening. And yes, there is a need to sell land for a deep discount, because non-profit housing developers cannot build affordable homes that working class families can afford without it. If you want to gentrify, that's a good way to do it.

Default check the 1998-2002 elec files

Check Booker's 1998-2002 ELEC file online for ATS development corp or If you know the principals look for their names on his donor list.

I support Booker but the harder we look it seems the more he appears like the same council people he is trying to stop.

Its time we scrutinize everything.

the facts support themselves.....this resolution clearly indicates that booker voted for the sell of city land for a 1$ a square foot. his council also endorsed this. now he is raving over land going for 4$ a square foot. i hope people read this & let the truth come out. he was just like sharpe.....& now he is worse.
