...of what the "Ego" does to a department. His boys got away with ANYTHING (most of it criminal), but the most minor infractions were met with hefty suspensions for anyone else. Heck, it didn't even have to be him having a problem with you-if one of his boys didn't like you, you were in trouble, as well. As an example, a Black sergeant made a complaint when a white supervisor made a comment that was felt to be racially insensitive. Since this white guy was one of the "Ego's" boys, when it got to police trials, a sleuth of 'witnesses' testified that the white supervisor never made the remark. Not only did the Ego find his boy not guilty, but charged the Black sergeant with lying about it and suspended him for it! Later, when it went to appeals court before a real judge, the so called witnesses changed their story and said that the white supervisor was "just joking" (You see, they were afraid to lie in an actual court setting). The begining of the downfall of the police department started with that megalomaniac, which paved the way for that absurdly stupid highschool drop out to take his place and ruin things even more.

who don't want to retire. Sometimes, in life, we must all know when it's time to go.
